Astro A50 X Honest Review
Просмотров 3499 часов назад
Although I think the audio quality, microphone, and feature set of the A50 X are phenomenal, I have major issues with the price and overall comfort. There is not a sane world where someone can convince me that this headset is reasonably priced at $380 USD, and I firmly believe that Astro could have done better in the padding and adjustability departments. However, once you are able to make them...

Razer BlackShark V2 Hyperspeed vs HyperX Cloud III Wireless

For 130 dollars, the BlackShark V2 Hyperspeed is pretty hard to beat in my book. They’re lightweight, they sound great, they have quite possibly the best microphone on a gaming headset, and they have Bluetooth functionality. I thought they were being over-hyped and over-promoted by various reviewers, but I honestly believe they deserve the praise at this point. Even though I love the Cloud III’...
NZXT H6 Flow vs H9 Flow
Просмотров 6 тыс.2 месяца назад
If you are in the market for a mid-tower dual-chamber case, both the H6 Flow and H9 Flow are solid options. Personally, I like the H6 Flow better for it's form factor and overall design. So why isn't my build inside it? Because I didn't pay attention and bought an AIO that was too thick (38mm rad 25 mm fans) to fit in the H6, so I compromised and got the H9 so that I could still use the Arctic ...
Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Headset Review

Although the G Pro X 2 is a comfortable, well-built, and great sounding headset, the lack of features and poor implementation of the ones that are there make this very difficult for me to recommend. It has Bluetooth, yes, but you can't use it while gaming - it's a toggle switch. It has robust software, but it requires you to be an audio engineer to use effectively. It has a microphone, but hot ...

Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro vs Glorious Model D 2 Pro

Hey everyone - if you’re in the market for a wireless, ultralight, right-handed gaming mouse with optical switches, that doesn't rely on the honeycomb design for its weight reduction, there’s a solid chance you’ve narrowed it down to these two options. Personally, I like the DeathAdder V3 Pro a little better than the Model D 2 Pro - I like the switches better, I like the shape better, and I lik...
Steelseries Arctis Nova 7 Wireless vs HyperX Cloud III Wireless
Просмотров 13 тыс.7 месяцев назад
Summary: Although these retail for similar prices, the Arctis Nova 7 offers significantly more bang for your buck than the Cloud III. While both headsets provide great-sounding audio, are comfortable to wear for long periods of time, have detachable/retractable mics, and come standard with USB-C, only the Arctis Nova 7 comes with Bluetooth integration, a built-in game/chat mixer, and a 3.5 mm p...
Reducing Monitor Wobble on a Standing Desk
Просмотров 16 тыс.Год назад
Hey everyone - wanted to make a quick video showing that the best solution I found to mitigate monitor wobble when my desk was at standing height was to use heavy duty monitor stands. Monitor arms (dual and single) just made the wobbling worse. Frankly, this whole thing was a learning experience, I doubt I would ever buy a 2-legged model with a 1 inch tabletop again. I hope the video helps out ...
HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 vs Cloud Stinger 2 Core

Hey everybody - if you’ve done any research on these, you’ll know that there are very few differences between these two headsets: driver size, ear cushions, and some quality of life improvements. The standard Cloud Stinger 2 comes with 50 mm drivers, leatherette memory foam ear cushions, and rotatable ear cups whereas the Stinger 2 Core has 40 mm drivers, fabric ear cushions, and non-rotatable ...
TYGR 300 R vs PC38x

Summary: At 150 USD, the same price as the PC38x, the Beyerdynamic TYGR 300 R leaves a lot to be desired. With the exception of audio quality, which is objectively some of the cleanest and clearest I’ve ever heard, I don’t think they do anything better than other gaming headsets around this price point. And what exactly makes it a “gaming” headset? The altered sound profile? The slight orange t...

can someone answer me this, do you need steel series GG if you use the GameDac? i HATE sonar as keep running into issues as it keeps changing to other audio devices like my speakers or my monitor which im pretty sure doesn't even have speakers with no warning or if i change apps/games. wanting to get the nova pro wired and i want to uninstall GG and use GameDac for chatmix but will it work without GG?
It should, yes. I used the GameDac before GG was released, and never needed to fire up the software when I used it. I am out of town but can verify for you when I get back, but am 99% certain on this. Sonar is a neat concept but just having software add 5 new audio options to your PC is a WILD decision in my book lol.
God I wanna get it but it's sooooo much money
Great comparison. No BS like most other headset reviewers. PC38X is definitely best of the bunch there.
You are the hero we needed! The A50X microphone sounds is AMAZING. I agree with you the price is too high and it gets uncomfortable and presses the top of my head after 1 hour. But there are no alternatives if you want top quality microphone in a wireless headset. The Blackshark V2 is OK to. I love how you went from best to worst, so good HOORAY.
Before my fiancé bought the Drop PC38X, we both watched several reviews about it and yours was the one that sealed the deal. Appreciate your straight-to-the-point honest and practical reviews.
Thank you! Always makes my day seeing comments like this on the channel.
I have a desk shelf underneath the monitor. My monitor is on a spring arm, when standing I just rest my monitor on the self in a tilted position and it's very ergonomic as well as completely stabilizes the monitor.
Very nice review 👌
You’re right about the Logitech pro X 2. The microphone killed it for me. The only reason I didn’t get it 😢
What about the EPOS H6PRO you reviewed earlier? Did you return them?
Nope, still have them right here as well - but their mic and the PC38x is basically identical so I didn't want to double dip.
If you can only pick one headset from all of these which one would you chose?
If I could only keep one headset, it would be the PC38x with an Astro MixAmp. Of the wireless ones though, they all have their pros and cons. The A50 X is overpriced, and I find it gets uncomfortable after a while (weak padding up top), but I love the audio quality, microphone, and feature set. The Cloud III is super solid, but lacks any kind of game/chat mixer or Bluetooth capability. The Razer Blackshark V2 Hyperspeed is a decent, budget friendly pick that I've compared to the Cloud III's before. I would not recommend anyone buy the Logitech G Pro X 2 with that price tag and microphone. Right now as I type this I am using the A50 X, but I don't know if you should spend 400 dollars on it. The safest pick in my book is the Cloud III's.
Not the hero we deserved, but the hero we needed.
Is the Gesture the first premium office chair you have ever bought? I wanna replace my cheap Staples chair (bonded leather is peeling off, it's awful) but man, the price is steep.
It is indeed. And yes, the price was tough to get over. I initially looked on FB Marketplace, found an office furniture reseller, went and sat in a bunch of different chairs, then after I found the one I liked (Gesture for me, but everyone has their own preference), I ended up settling with Crandall's Steelcase authorized factory returns. Got an essentially brand new Gesture (ship date of March 2024) with a headrest for $850. People were reselling their 6-7 year old Gestures, with no headrest, no additional lumbar, stains, etc. for $500 or more so I am okay with the price I paid all things considered.
DO U RECCOMEND ASTRO A50X OR G PRO X 2 ? PLZ make comprosion video between g pro x 2 and astro a50x
If someone FORCED me to pick one, I would pick the A50 X, even with my complaints. It has a game/chat mixer, a 10x better microphone, a charging base station, more simplistic software (even though they both use G Hub which is weird), and much better Bluetooth implementation. Both are overpriced, but if you're going to get bent over, might as well get the one with more features. Edit: And you got it, I will make a video soon on this topic.
@@MercuryTV thanks im going to wait i guess, I'm wondering which one havs better sound quality and imaging, I'm glad youare going to make video about it.
nice to finally see some truth behind the label for once, out of interest for someone on the headset hunt, what would you suggest instead
Oooh this is a tough one. Every headset I own has its own pros and cons. Let me list them out. Would recommend to my friends: HyperX Cloud III - Wireless, no frills, good audio, good mic, comfortable, but lacking features like a game/chat mixer, no bluetooth. Drop PC38x - Wired, open back, comfortable, great audio, great mic, probably need an amp/dac and no features to speak of. Razer Blackshark V2 Hyperspeed - Wireless, good audio, great mic, very lightweight, has Blueooth (but it can be a little annoying), no game/chat mixer. More subjective: Astro A50 X - Wireless, only recommend if you have an average sized head and $400 doesn't matter, great audio, great features, best mic yet. Steelseries Arctis Nova 7 - Wireless, decent audio, best feature set at that price point IMO (Flawless integration of Bluetooth, game/chat mixer), retractable mic, but comfort is a bit iffy (I hate their suspension style headbands). Very difficult to recommend: Still testing it out but Turtle Beach Atlas Air - Wireless open back. Dogshit software. Pretty bad sounding mic. Logitech Pro X 2 Lightspeed - great audio, really comfortable, worst microphone ever, bad/lacking features, very overpriced IMO My ideal wireless headset has to have a game/chat mixer as I spend most of my time gaming with friends, a phenomenal microphone, comfortable to wear for 4+ hours, and great audio. Like give me an open back, wireless PC38x with the feature set of the Arctis Nova 7 and mic of the A50 X and I'll gladly pay $400.
Thanks!
Great honest review as always! I Tried the A40 TR years ago and that headset felt tiny. I couldn't use it. They need to make these headsets bigger for adults. I don't think most children are dishing out $400 for a headset. That's what Turtle Beach's are for. lol
Lol dude you might be a mind reader. I did a practice run last night where I said pretty much the exact same thing: ruclips.net/video/EHnt3f9WGyU/видео.html
Great review the quality keeps getting better and better
Appreciate it buddy! Makes me happy to still see you commenting all these years later.
I'm concerned about gpu sag as I don't see how I can put a support bracket for the gpu in the H6. Does anyone know of a good fix?
I drew this up, imgur.com/8hFkjfi. Completely understand the concern there. If your GPU isn't long enough to clear both 140mm intake fans, I think you're SOL. If it does go past the fans, you could get a product like this, www.amazon.com/Aivalas-Support-Graphics-Adjustable-Universal/dp/B0BPGJCLYR/. If it doesn't, I think these braces are your only option, and I don't think they work too well. www.amazon.com/EZDIY-FAB-GPU-Graphics-RTX3090-309EZ-Black/dp/B09466LNV3/
I'm considering either one of those two, im gaming and im working as well from home. I'm not sure will hyperx cloud 3 wireless suit enough for work from home in call center or maybe better option to go with razer then.
I won’t lie, for work calls I like the Cloud IIIs because the mic monitoring/ side tone is more prominent.
Great unboxing. Searching for vids about this product because I'm really close to break my wallet for it. It looks in a better quality than Sideshow products. Same level as Prime 1 or even better ? I really like the support for the alternative head and weapon.
In terms of audio quality, would you recommend this or the Blackshark V2 Pro
Haven't had the chance to try out the V2 Pros just yet, sorry.
we're here because of the link between WETA - Space Marine - Lord of the Rings. In hope really.
thanks for sharing so we do not have to experience the same pain.
Great video! I am leaning towards the P38x for cod multiplayer/warzone. Do you recommend a DAC/AmP?
Absolutely. I know it's probably a hot take, but if you are in Discord a lot while gaming with friends, I love having something like the Astro MixAmp or Steelseries GameDAC for that game/chat mixer as well as the amp (even if the audiophile community could list 1,000 better standalone amplifiers).
@@MercuryTV thanks! I was checking out the GC7
Are the Cloud Singer 2's better than the Logitech G432's? Where i live they are both in the same price range, i had the chance to try out G432's and they sounded good. I've heard people have mixed opinions about the sound quality of the G432's, some say its good and some say its bad. Is the sound quality on the cloud stingers better?
Man unfortunately I haven’t had the chance to try the G432s out. Sorry I can’t be of more help on this one.
Thanks for this video! it definitely helped me to decide between these two. H6 is better for me!
thx bro , i like ur reviews very helpfull and detailed wish u all the best
I appreciate it buddy. Thanks for taking the time to watch.
hey i got some question im looking to get my 1st premium headset and i watched some reviews of nova 7 and people didnt like the sound quality of it also the comfort and the build quality i wanna make sure like i dont really use bluetooth that much so no issue but i wanna know which one has best sound quality and comfort and build quality i wanna get the better one can u quickly answer because im gonna get one of them tomorrow thanks 🙏
If you don’t care about the Bluetooth functionality get the Cloud IIIs
@@MercuryTV thanks man one last time to make sure does cloud 3 have better sound quality? mostly for fps games thanks
@arashgames7 yeah I would say it takes the edge in sound quality and comfort between the two.
I have Blackshark V2 pro 2023, mic and sound are very good, but build quality is awful. Plastic hinge above the earcups cracked 3 times already (want to admit I'm very careful with headset). And as I can see on Reddit and etc. it's not a single issue. So now I'm waiting for cloud 3 (hope build quality for hyperx on the same level as cloud 2), so will see. Thanks for this comparison.
Brilliant solution -- and I have been buying various hardware in a fruitless search for a solution. Thanks very much for posting this. I bought that mount, and it works. So thankful. 🙂
I'm a little bit late, but excellent review. As someone else said, this review stood out among many others I've seen. Great style and super helpful.
Thanks for this. I have this exact problem. I have a 73" desk with two pillars supporting this 2" top. I have a 45" Ultrawide and I have it mounted using a monitor arm and when I am typing the monitor shakes and wobbles. If I lift my hands like you did the wobble is a lot better. Does that mean I have to now raise my hands and type to get this to stabilize?
Damn. You have a 2” thick top and it still does this? I was hoping if I had a heavier tabletop it would help negate the wobble. And as for raising your hands, I had to admit defeat and go back to a normal desk. There was no way I could feasibly type like that 24/7.
@@MercuryTV exactly. Thanks !
Is it possible to use Cloud 3 while charging? (i know the cable is short, but i could just another cable)
Just tried myself - yes you can, but I got pretty significant static interference while doing so. However, I found out that was due to the mic being so close to the USB cable. Once I muted the mic the static went away.
Fucking love this video
I bought the Pc38x like 4 years ago and was really happy with it.. It just stopped working (right ear just went mute). I opened it and all cables are fine so something else broke... But.. this is not a complaint .. I loved the headset and just bought another one. I had the yellow one and bought the black as replacement (still waiting for its arrival).. I like some features of the H6pro but the PC38x is insanely good! Pc38x was my first open back headset and I have to admit I like it more than closed ones... With closed ones I feel the audio is pushed to my head but the breathability of the open back was a life changing for me.. is placid.. is deeper and the sound feels that comes from the surrounding instead of just at my ears... I personally prefer that
Dude same - but my issue is somehow related to the volume knob. If I even look at it wrong, it'll cut the volume to my right ear cup. I then have to finesse it back into a working spot. Considered buying a new pair, might just make these last until they're truly dead.
@@MercuryTV oh my issue was not with the knob.. it just completely went mute... Anyways I already got my new pair of pc38x (black ones this time)... so good
Honestly, i like the sound of the clouds mic after the swap to 3200khz, very clear, blacksharks mic doesn't sound as clear and you can hear robotic like compression if you listen close. I have the blackshark shark v2 pro 2023 and mic is much better, but i get it...its more! The battery is insane on the clouds also.
Hi, very good video, I wanted to ask you about the AIO. What is it that prevents the AIO from not fitting in the h6? I have a case that shouldn't fit either, it crashed with the motherboard and the rear fan and the screw holes didn't match, but I managed to mount the AIO. Sorry for Google tranlator.
imgur.com/a/cpCCfud I took this photo of inside the H9. The gap with the red arrow basically doesn't exist at all inside the H6, so my AIO was being jammed up against my motherboard's rear IO. The orange circle is actually the mark/dent I made trying to force it when I was building inside the H6. Had the overall fans+radiator been slimmer, it would have fit fine, but the Liquid Freezer series use a 38mm radiator vs most others which use a 30mm. Hope that helps.
@@MercuryTV thank you so much
Yeah, that’s totally good enough, really appreciate the help, definitely earned a sub. Just was stuck between purchasing this and the Corsair HS80s but this might’ve cleared up the problem for me.
Love that you read comments and answer directly… you easy on the eyes too
Unfortunately the worst thing about this headset which makes it unpurchaseable is it being from razer, if by some miracle the hardware doesn't break, they will make sure it will with some firmware update to synapse. Such a shame because if not for that it's the best in the price range.
Yeah I've had some mixed experiences with Razer products over the years. I will say though, Synapse used to be significantly worse than it is now. Still a bit ridiculous with 14 processes running in the background, but I avoid opening it unless I'm doing a demo. Hardware is a different story - have a DAV3 Pro, scroll wheel was complete garbage after less than a year of usage. This is my first headset from them, so we will see how it stands the test of time.
How is the mic noise cancellation on the Blackshark V2? I would really appreciate the input, I'm trying to find a wireless headset with a good mic and sound quality, but WITHOUT or with bad noise cancelling, girlfriend likes hearing me typing when i'm not talking much over the mic. Thanks man!
Made this on my lunch break for you: ruclips.net/video/hFi7nqPsK5g/видео.html
@@MercuryTV thank you SO much man.
i have an acer monitor, its stand is the worst in the market, makes the screen wobble with the slightest of excitation, even from the over head ceiling fan, come on... and using keyboard amplifies the wobble. the problem is not with the stand, but the joint mechanism between stand and monitor... single point clip with no adjustment. so any ideas or solutions? (for now, i just placed some books right under the screen to arrest its wobble movement while filling the gap from monitor screen to desk). i cant change my old desk, been using it for over 1.5 decades, ergonomically suited for my body in the long run.
The H9 is HUGE! Like a fish tank. I agree not much character. I think whats really odd is the fans on the H9 aren't pointing at the board at all. They are facing away. Why would they do that? Most cases have FRONT fans pointing at the board, or in the H6 case, 45 degree hitting it from a different angle but the H9 points it away. How does that benefit it? Also can you tell me if you think the Fractal beats both of these? I am considering ALL 3 right now + the new ASUS ProArt PA602 case. Wondering if you had to place them in order which would be your top choice, second choice and third? Thanks great vid!
Honestly, yes, I think the Fractal Torrent is a much more unique build option than the H9 Flow. I don't regret moving to the AIO + dual chamber, but I am definitely keeping the Torrent around for next time I do an all air-cooled build. The 90 degree turn from those intake fans to the components is goofy for sure, but whether you believe it or not, my temps are still great with the H9. The two 140 mm fans on the bottom are blowing cold air directly into my GPU, and that 360mm Liquid Freezer keeps my CPU temps low as well. So for me, it would be H6 Flow (if you can fit your build in there)/ Fractal Torrent (if you're doing an air cooled build) tied at #1, with the H9 Flow at #3.
great video, nice talking
Been looking for this exact comparison - thanks dude 👍
Thanks dude! This helped me see how actually big it is. Just bought one.
I watched this after the fact. Will also be returning :/
Such a shame. Great audio and comfort but impossible to recommend in its current state.
I was about to buy the H6 over the H9, but I have the same AIO. Thanks for the info and saving me a lot of trouble.
thanks man
